So...

It's xmas eve. I'm in the office. Another 30 mins, and I'll be knocking off.
My boss is gone~ Seems that everyone else is busy except the both of us~~
Some are either talking on the phone, replying emails, or typing briefs...

We were DAMN free the whole of ytd~
I read every damn thing on the net (google searched every damn thing that came to mind), forum-ed, Fb-ed (stalked almost everyone of my friends :O), etc...

First day of work (2 days ago) was alright~
At least this time, there was a sense of familiarity :)
Just o few changes here and there along the workflow process..
Well, I must say Vibes has really trained me well (Don't ppl always learn under harsher conditions? :P)
I guess the only thing I need to pick up right now is advertising on the net.. Which is quite challenging. As you would have known, I'm not the best person to ask when something crops up with comp, or anything related to IT. Geez, I guess I'd need to start reading up on stuff like HTML, Search engine optimization, CPM, web analytics, etc... =X

Ok, enough about work! It's after all the eve before xmas!
22 more mins, and I'm off to meet ed and yan~~
I guess meanwhile I shall walk around~ :P

Yay! I'm officially employed!
So damn freaking HAPPY!!!
A good start for the NEW YEAR!!
Whoo~~ I shall skip the misfortune that happened this mrng =X

Anyways...

The HR person told me it's not a permanent job..
I will be freelancing for them for 6mths, afterwhich, they'll convert me to full time if I am good enough. But I think chances are they will cos my department only comprises of 2 people~~ :O Yes, 2 PEOPLE. It'll only be me and my boss :P of course, there's good and bad. The good thing is, with minimal ppl along the communication channel, things get done faster.. In the sense that there's minimal obstacles. The bad thing is, since there're only 2 of us, one of us is bound to be swarmed with work. And I can foresee that it'll be me.. :P Plus we'll be working with India.. we're 2.5 hrs ahead of them :O

But whatever it is, I shall not be complacent. I mean, no one in this world is indispensable.. では, これから頑張れます！！

2 of us.. I was pretty amazed actually.. He told me tht in Malaysia and India, the interactive dept consists of at least 150 staff !! :O Singapore, wad are you doing?! Make use of technology!!

I spent several days researching on Interactive media since I totally have no experience in that area (unless u consider the brief I wrote for APB's leaderboard during my internship days an experience. But it was like wad? a 10 mins exp? :O). I was so afraid that the interviewer would ask me stuff on those interactive stuff, but phew~ I later find out that the department that I will be working in is like a jack-of-all trade - TV, print, interactive, but mostly BTL.

The HR person asked me when I could start work. And me, giving the standard answer received a shock. I'm asked to start TMR!! :O
Cos the current freelancer is leaving on the 23rd. I guess the reason why I'm getting this job is also because they (desperately) need someone to take her place. It's ok. Whatever the reason is... It's GREY!! I'm more than glad!

Oh, another important thing.. I also have to thank my friends for recommendations and encouragements here and there. So to Jess, Serene and Joyce, if you're reading this... Thank you!! <3 Jess, thanks for the interactive tutorial! :)

And so...

The intv this afternoon..

It was a total scam~~

It claimed to be a BTL advertising agency hiring an Account Executive..
I applied, went to the intv, only to realise...

That they are basically a production company.

Yes, production, defined as : the act of producing; creation; manufacture (source: dictionary.com)

As soon as I arrived at the location, I sensed something fishy..

1. The office is situated in an industrial park
2. There are cargo lifts
3. There are machines everywhere
4. The whole place just looks like a factory

Well, the office itself passed off as an ad firm... But in any case, it just wasn't one.

There won't be any campaigns to work on, no pitches to go for, no brainstorming sessions to sit in... NONE.
And so, I declined the offer.

It's back to square one. JOB HUNTING~~

After a long long time, someone finally calls me up for an interview! Yay~
So... the interview is tomorrow :D It's damn far away from where I stay =X
In any case, I hope I do get the job. Enough of bumming ard for 2 weeks already! =X

Met up with Jess and Joyce ytd.. We were supposed to meet for dinner but dinner became supper instead :P
HAHA managed to get glimpse of what Oglivy looks like~~ Yes, literally a glimpse (we came through the door and headed straight to the balcony) cos we were hanging out at the balcony while waiting for Jess.. :P

So that was ytd, today we (ed, yan and I) went back to the "village"!!! So nostalgic~~~
We found lotsa pics of ourselves when we were younger!! They were damn funny!
I'm sure ed will spam me with those photos in FB soon! xD

Back from the doc..
I've gotten myself an infected eye due to overexertion of my sight..
Too much concentration on the computer screen --> dry eyes --> vulnerable to germ, bacteria and what not..
Which leads me to...

Getting myself a 2 day MC.. Whee~~~ So damn happy.. cos this means I won't need to do the broadcast transcripts for ep 3!! (Or maybe I still need to but lesser pages :D) It's gonna be at least 50 fucking pages!! So now you know why I dread going to work? Anyways, 2 MORE WEEKS till I'm over and done with my attachment!!! PHEW~~~

Hwee asked me the other day if I'd want to extend my contract till Feb.. I gave her a straight ans "NO".. And I'm actually quite proud that I had the guts to tell her NO in the face. You see, the problem with me is, sometimes (ok, most of the time) I find it difficult to say "NO".. So instead of saying "NO", I'd say "Maybe".. and that "Maybe" would then translate to, Ok, I guess she's fine with it. Let's make it a deal then. And the next thing you know, I'd start complaining till the cows come home. :P So... that was how I was (still am at times) and I'm trying to change :)

I was updating my resume the other day and I realised that I really learnt a lot more when in advertising, really.
While I could go on and on writing what my skills accquired and roles were when I was in advertising, I could only name 4 things I learnt for these past 6 mths, i.e: digitize footage, sort footage for editors, logging and transcribbing and application of skills on hardware and software. -.-II Sometimes I look back at what I've been doing and I think, Man, I've wasted my time for 6 bloody months! But then again, I guess it's true that while you gain some, you also lose some (though I THINK I've lost more than what I've gained =X)

Also, there's this lady who's been pissing us (the other interns and me) off lately..
I appreciate her kind intentions but I guess she needs to be flexible, or rather, think abit more and open her eyes wider.
Almost a month ago, this lady had asked me to send her a copy of my resume. Me being the procrastinator obviously did not action on it right away. I sat on it for almost 2 weeks before she started calling me, asking me for it. Ok, I get your point. And so, I sent. 2 hrs after I sent it over to her, she called me up, telling me to go for an intv the NEXT day @ 11am. I told her I wasn't able to make it as I have been working night shifts.. She then asked me if she could schedule the intv on another day. I said yes, and guess what she said? "How about this Friday 10am?" I was like, Hello, which part of night shift do you not understand? I need slp!!. Ok, so i told her nicely that I might not be able to make it.. But she was bloody stubborn, she said, "Nvm lah, I'll tentatively out your name on the list ok?" ... By then I was like, Whatever..

Other incidents which the other interns encountered were like her calling them up 3 times a day just to ask for ans that can be found in their resumes.. Like, "When did you grad from ... ", "Why did you leave Starbucks?" (Obviously it was a part time job, my friend was what? 16 then? And I'm pretty sure resumes will state the nature of the job. So she should just open her eyes wider), etc..

Speaking of resumes, I've been sending quite a lot of them lately.. But none has given me a positive reply =X

Back from my gym session~~~
It's been awhile since I perspired a bucket full of water~~~ :O
Boy,did feel good!! To have beads of water trickling down your forehead, and sliding down your chin~~~ :)
To make things even better, there wasn't any form of disturbance/harassment today~~~

I won't complain about work today...
In fact, I have decided to look at things in a different light.
As much as I have decided that I dislike production/post production, I've been taking things in my stride.. Learning and picking up as many things as possible in the post-pro industry (I'm actually quite a klutz when it comes to such technical stuff =X).. It'll then become "I quit not because I can't do it, but because I have a choice not to do it". I know, my ego's acting up again. =X

I need to cut down on suppers!!!
I'm been having supper every night.. without fail~ :O
I guess I'll just order tea from now on..
Yes, tea it'll be.. To keep me up all night!!
I must resist!!

This seriously sucks BIG TIME.

By 30th Nov, I would have

- put on weight (cos of the suppers I have almost every night, and the lack of exercise due to exhaustion. Hah, maybe I'd be able to take part in Biggest Loser Asia Season 2 huh~)

- look like a panda due to the lack of sleep

- harmed my skin ( I am already having a breakout, again due to a lack of sleep =X)

Blah blah blah..

I know I complain a lot.. I can't help it~

Another 1.5 mths and I'm done with my apprenticeship...
So, after 6 mths of apprenticeship, what and where does it lead me to?

This time, I'm VERY sure what I want..

No doubt about it anymore :)

After a detour, it seems that I would still want to go back to Advertising and Communications
(I know.. I was dead sure that I wouldn't want to do it ever again. But oh well~~)

Yes, that's all I'm gg to talk about with regards to my future plans..
I guess if I were to continue, it'll be a long story..
Besides, I dont need to tell the whole world what I want to do with my life, right?
It's my life, I should know it better than anyone else ~~

Was supposed to go to work at 2pm today (on a Saturday!! =X)
Then it was postponed to 4pm instead..
And finally, it was called off.. for good. HAHA

I was also supposed to work night shift next week..
BUT...
Now, I'm asked to switch over to the morning shift instead..
930am~~ :O A challenge for me..
Well, I shouldn't complain.. It beats starting work at 9pm instead..
There goes my beauty sleep =X

It was Friday ytd..
Met up with a few friends for dinner and drinks..
Dinner was so-so..
Honestly, idk what's the hype about Astons.. The food was mediocre~~
As usual, I was the latest.. But it cant be blamed.. I was at work~~ =X
Then we headed over to CHIJMES for drinks..

Drinks was horrible too..
Our drinks were diluted~~ =X
Manda was trying Peiting's and Serene's drinks.. As usual, she being the expressive one, attracted the attention of the waitress..
And so, the waitress decided to re-make their drinks..
It turned out suckier~~ *faints*
After the horrible experience, we left for Starbucks instead..
Starbucks can't go any wrong.. It is indeed the Godfather of coffee :)
